100% of your donation goes directly to the educational improvements, programs, or facility improvements you decide to support.

How are the goals for the Royal Pride Foundation’s Annual Campaign determined?

Principal Ed Behrens and the Director of Development Matt Laband maintain an ongoing list of potential projects, and make annual proposals for consideration by the Board.

What is your strategy for sustainability?

Our strategy for long term sustainability is to leverage families of current and incoming students on an annual basis, while seeking grant support for projects and activities when possible.

Why should I give to the Royal Pride Foundation?

Support from our community is vital for improving our educational programs, extracurricular pursuits, facilities and administrative support. We are facing one of the most difficult financial crises in decades. California now ranks 48th in the nation in terms of annual per pupil expenditures, trailing the national average by over $2,800 per student.

Why is it necessary to raise additional funds for public education, isn’t that what we pay taxes for?

In light of our current state budget crisis, the necessary funding to support education in public schools is not available. So, we have a choice. We can wait until government become more supportive, or we can do something about it now.

Why does San Marcos High School need additional funds if Santa Barbara has some of the highest real estate prices in the country?

Real estate values in a particular school district no longer have a direct relationship to school funding. That changed many years ago by the State of California in an attempt to even out the funding between school districts.
